Born and raised in Fort Worth, Dr. Lauren Getz enjoys being able to serve every patient who walks through our doors as well as the community as a whole by providing greater access to dental care. With a few years of experience and counting, she looks forward to every day she gets to create positive change while educating others on how to maintain great oral health. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Getz was drawn to dentistry due to the hands-on nature of serving patients while making a positive impact in their lives. By becoming a dentist, she felt she would have the opportunity to pursue what she loved while also being able to develop relationships with amazing people. She could also combine problem-solving and detailed design to help create healthy, functional, and dazzling smiles.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Getz first attended Texas Christian University for her bachelor's degree before studying at Texas A&M College of Dentistry (formerly known as Baylor College of Dentistry). She earned her membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society along with the Odontological Honors Society and the Academy of General Dentistry. After graduating, she’s remained dedicated to undergoing countless hours of continuing education courses in various topics, including surgical treatments, dental implants, endodontics, and orthodontics.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Away from dentistry, Dr. Getz loves spending time with her family and husband—who is also a dentist. Other than being with loved ones, she enjoys reading, biking, hiking, and doing things outdoors. One interesting fact about her: she graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering before she began her career in dentistry!
